Master of Design Study program is a program stage that focuses on studying and deepening knowledge in the design field.

Research Topics
In the undergraduate design stage, which focuses on mastering design methods to solve design problems intended to provide the foundations for a profession, the master program emphasizes in-depth mastery of scientific aspects of solving design problems. To achieve the objectives of the master of design study program, one can choose one of two types of research: Design Studies and Design Projects. Design studies focus on efforts to deepen knowledge and design concepts with various insightful/scientific approaches to produce a more comprehensive understanding of design to produce theory in the form of a thesis. Meanwhile, design work focuses on developing and deepening designs through experimentation with design objects based on design methods and principles and a critical approach based on scientific design theory. The results of this design study research and design project are in the form of design products and scientific papers.

The educational objectives of the Master of Design Study Program are to produce graduates with the following abilities:
  1. Play an active and successful role in the profession he is engaged in
  2. Accepted to follow further education and finish it well
  3. Demonstrate pioneering and leadership in improvement efforts within the community

The expected achievements of the graduates of the Master of Design Study Program are as follows:

  1. Understand general knowledge of history, theory, criticism, design methodology, and, precisely, knowledge of the archipelago's cultural diversity and natural wealth as part of design studies and resources.
  2. Able to carry out design research independently, including utilizing information, knowledge, and methodology as a scientific discipline or practice.
  3. Able to integrate knowledge, perspectives, and values ??, as well as the ability to use various tools, technologies, and various modes of investigation obtained from literature studies and design precedents.
  4. Able to solve complex system problems through innovative and adequate research and/or design processes related to cross-disciplinary considerations such as humanity, economics, society, culture, technology, and other relevant fields.
  5. Able to critically evaluate methods, strategies, solutions, and design consequences in various contexts related to interdisciplinary considerations such as humanity, economics, society, culture, technology, and other relevant fields.
  6. Able to critically disseminate research or design processes and results with various design perspectives in multiple contexts and methods.
  7. Understand the meaning of leadership in research and design practice.
