The ITB Postgraduate and Professional Program Admission for Semester II 2023/2024, Accepted 1,104 New Students

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) held an in-person event to welcome new students (PMB) for the Postgraduate and Professional Program, which took place offline on Friday (2/1/2024) at the Sasana Budaya Ganesa Building (Sabuga) ITB.

The event commenced with an address from the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng. This was followed by an introduction to the Postgraduate and Professional Program presented by the Dean of the Graduate School, Prof. Dr. Suprijadi, M.Eng., and the Director of Non-Regular Education, Prof. Ridwan Sutriadi, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.

The program continued with guidance for new students of the Postgraduate Program provided by both the Vice Dean for Resources, Development, and Collaboration, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. apt. Sophi Damayanti, M.Si., and the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Quality Assurance, Prof. Dr.mont. Mohammad Zaki Mubarok, M.T.

The final session of this PMB agenda featured an inspiring talk with the theme "Building the Spirit of Young Researchers, Anticipating the Challenges of Golden Indonesia", including a keynote address by the Professor in the Field of Institutional, Management, Financing of Regional and Urban Infrastructure at SAPPK ITB, Prof. Ir. Miming Miharja, S.T., M.Sc.Eng. Ph.D., moderated by a lecturer from the Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering (FTTM) ITB, D.Sc.(Tech.) Imam Santoso, S.T., M.Phil.

According to data as of January 31, 2024, the Postgraduate and Professional Program admissions for the second semester of the Academic Year (AY) 2023/2024 at ITB enrolled a total of 1,104 new students. Of this total, 782 students enrolled in the Master's Program and 94 in the Doctoral Program. Among the Master's Program students, 344 individuals or 44% were female, and 438 individuals, or 56% were male. Meanwhile, for the Doctoral Program, 42 individuals, or 44.7% were female, and 52 individuals or 55.3% were male.

The youngest student enrolled in the Master's Program for the second semester of the Academic Year (AY) 2023/2024 is 20 years old, while the oldest is 61 years old. Meanwhile, the youngest student enrolled in the Doctoral Program is 23 years old, and the oldest is 61 years old.

Then, in the Professional Program, there are 228 students, with 138 admitted to the Engineering Professional Program and 90 students admitted to the Pharmacy Program. There are 88 individuals or 38.6% who are female, and 140 individuals or 61.4% who are male. The youngest student is 20 years old, and the oldest is 57 years old.

The Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring, M.Eng., congratulated the newly admitted students for this semester. "I congratulate all of you on being accepted as postgraduate students at ITB. May this be a significant step towards achieving your future goals, enhancing your competencies to contribute more to society," he said.

He also advised the new students to continue creating and innovating, striving to give their best, not only for ITB but also for the nation.
"Continue learning and creating to give your best for your alma mater and beloved country," he concluded.
