Marcellina Kristin's Journey to Win the 2023 West Java Cici Selection
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung, School of Life Sciences and Technology, Master’s Program in Bio Management student Marcellina Kristin won 1st place in the 2023 West Java Koko Cici (Koci) Selection. The announcement was made at the 2023 West Java Koko Cici Finals Night Selection which took place at the Auditorium Universitas Kristen Maranatha on Sunday (7/5/2023).
This event was the peak event of a series of selection stages for the 2023 West Java Chinese Cultural Ambassador selection. To ITB Public Relations reporters, Acel, as she is commonly called, said that the reason she participated in the Koko Cici Jawa Barat selection came from her desire to grow. She wants to try to get out of her comfort zone, learn new things, and seek organizational experience outside of campus.
Acel recounted her journey through the selection stages to win first place. Even though she had never participated in a competition before, and was even struggling when compiling her CV, Acel kept moving forward. She went through the entire selection process, starting from the document selection, online and offline auditions, interviews, talent shows, to the quarantine period.
Through this selection process, Acel admitted that she learned many new things, and that made her more confident. She also asserted her motivation through her willingness to learn and accept any criticism as self-evaluation.
Amid her studies, Acel also tries to divide her time by making schedules and priorities. She also gave tips, "If there is no KoCi agenda yet, do college assignments by prioritizing the one with the closest deadline, so that submission is safe when there is a KoCi agenda.”
Koko Cici (Koci) is a pageant for selecting Chinese West Javan Ambassadors to be part of the Koko Cici Indonesia family, as a wing organization from the West Java Chinese Indonesian Family Social Association (PSMTI). Through this achievement, Acel had given her alma mater a good name on the national stage.
