ITB Grieves for the Departure of Prof. Dwi Hendratmo Widyantoro
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id—Institut Teknologi Bandung is deeply saddened by the passing of Prof. Ir. Dwi Hendratmo Widyantoro, M.Sc., Ph.D. on Sunday (18/09/2022). He left peacefully at 23.00 in Borromeus Bandung Hospital.
As a professor from the Informatics Research Group, Prof. Dwi’s departure brought immense sorrow to everyone at the ITB SEEI (School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics). Born on 7 December 1968 at Ambarawa, Prof. Dwi graduated from SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga in 1987 before continuing his bachelor studies in ITB. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Informatics Engineering in 1991. He then studied abroad at Texas A&M University, USA to pursue his Master of Science degree in 1999 and received his Computer Science Doctorate in 2003.
Since 1994, Prof. Dwi has been an active member of the ITB SEEI Informatics Research Group, constantly delving into research and education for his students and colleagues. Thanks to his contributions, he was awarded the Professor of Computer Science title on 1 October 2016.

Throughout his career in ITB, Prof. Dwi was elected as the following:
1. Vice Dean of Academic Affairs (1 January 2011 – 28 May 2015)
2. Head of Informatics Research Group (1 April 2019 – present)
3. Dean of ITB SEEI (4 February 2020 – 29 April 2020)
