BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Developed countries are already implementing the concept of the 21st Century Learning for children since a few years ago. This concept emphasizes the importance of learning to be creative in a fun way and maximize the benefits of technology, especially computers. The type of skills required in the 21st century are focusing on innovation, collaboration, global citizenry, and critical thinking. In order to keep it in the young generation of Indonesia, Cyber Security R & D Center STEI ITB (CSC) will hold Indonesia Cyberkids Camp (ICC) in 2016. The event will be held at the House Cyber Security Center ITB Campus Jatinangor, Sumedang district in July 2016.

ICC 2016 will gather talented children who love programming from all over Indonesia. The event also aims to select the Indonesian delegation to the ASEAN Cyberkids Camp 2016 which will be held at ITB Jatinangor on Friday-Sunday (29-31/06/16). Two winners of the ICC 2016 will be formed into a team and become representative of Indonesia. In that event, the children will make the animation game, and other independent computer application with predefined themes.

ICC 2016 participants are elementary school children in grades 4 to 6. Children will be asked to make something out of Scratch 1.4 Programming software for kids which then recorded and uploaded to Youtube. A total of 80 participants with the most favorite and like will go to the next stage which is announced on Sunday (17/06/16). They will take the online test in the semi-finals which held a week later.

Eight best entries will be invited to Cyber Security Center (CSC) ITB Jatinangor to create works on the spot and assessed by the jury. "Finals of the competition will be held on July 28, 2016 to come up with the best two," said Chairman of the ICC in 2016 and Executive Director of CSC, Yusep Rosmansyah.

Early Agenda to Build Entrepreneurs
Apart from being one of the ways towards the benefit of the Internet and prevent children to become victims of the Internet world, according to Director of Global Technology Teraindo, Abrisam, there is another purpose behind the organization of ICC 2016. According to him, this kind of event is one of the way to make young entrepreneurs.

"In Indonesia, only about 5 percent of children are already and can make an application," he said.

Abrisam added that when children are able to utilize IT, their brains will automatically trigger a good logical thinking ability. That way, children can weigh things that are effective and efficient.

"In the camp children will also learn in a fun way that kids can quickly understand the material," he explained. He said that hopefully this year Indonesia could win the first prize in the ASEAN Cyberkids Camp 2016.
