Creativity Has Brought STEI ITB Team To Be The Winner of Fujitsu Innoviation Challenge 2013

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - The idea of developing Fujitsu Palm Secure, a security authentication tool, to be a health checker tool brought team from School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (STEI) ITB won the Fujitsu Innovation Challenge 2013. The team that consists of Bagus Hanindhito (Electrical Engineering 2011), Wisnu Wijayanto (Electrical Engineering, 2011), and Cindy Agustina (Electrical Engineering 2011) was getting the chance to attend the Fujitsu Forum 2013 in Tokyo, Japan on Thursday-Friday (16-17/05/13 ).

Before winning this competition each team was required to present their application in front of the judges from Fujitsu Indonesia. The application called "Attendance Record System with Integrated Body Health Information" has made STEI ITB team won over 14 other teams from ITB, University of Indonesia, and Bina Nusantara University because it could meet the competition criteria such as creativity, originality, latest innovations, economic value and useful for society.

STEI ITB team's application was considered excellent in human service points because by using this application Palm Secure tool can help solve health problems by detecting the haemoglobin difference in blood. In addition the idea of team STEI ITB was considered very creative and out of the box by the judge because it can add the function of Palm Secure tool to health object that have not thought before.

 

 Trip to Japan


As the winner of this competition, STEI ITB team got the Fujitsu laptop and a free trip to Japan for 4 days at 13th to May 17th 2013. In Japan Bagus, Wisnu, and Cindy had the opportunity to visit the headquarters of Fujitsu and try some of the latest products from Fujitsu directly. One of them was the technology that used for agriculture so that farmers can control their fields like water and pH levels of the soil from their home.

Additionally STEI ITB team also presented the idea in front of the inventor of Fujitsu Palm Secure. This idea was well received by the Fujitsu but unfortunately the application could not be applied directly to the Palm Secure products that exist today for several reasons. "In the future there is the possibility of our application cab be developed by Fujitsu, but for now it still can't be yet," said Bagus.

On the third day, the team was attending Fujitsu Forum 2013 where the CEO of Fujitsu presented the latest technologies that have been developed by Fujitsu. Then STEI ITB team also invited to visit Tokyo Disneyland. In addition to experience a very memorable trip, STEI ITB team this time was inspired to make Indonesia become can be a developed country like Japan.

"First thing that shall be fixed from Indonesia is the mental of the people to be more concerned about many people needs beside their own needs," said Wisnu
