The Bonding of ITB and NUS, Dashing Towards an Innovative Future

SINGAPORE, itb.ac.id – Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) visited National University of Singapore (NUS) on 4 February, 2024. This visit was led by the Vice Rector for Finance, Planning, and Development, Prof. Ir. Muhamad Abduh, M.T., Ph.D.. The visitation of ITB was welcomed warmly by the President of NUS, Professor Tan Eng Chye.

Professor Tan Eng Chye expressed his joy at the arrival of the ITB delegation and emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two educational institutions.

"It is an honor for me and my colleagues to be able to exchange knowledge and share the best experiences with senior delegates from Institut Teknologi Bandung," said Professor Tan Eng Chye on his social media.

“The mutually beneficial partnership between NUS, our universities and industrial partners in Indonesia must continue. Together, we will develop innovative solutions in the fields of education, research and entrepreneurship, to advance the personal, social and economic well-being of the communities we serve in Singapore and Indonesia," he said.

Meanwhile, Prof. Abduh said that the relationship between ITB and NUS has been around for a very long time. He felt honored to receive an extraordinary welcome and trust to exchange ideas about the latest things on each campus and various innovations that are currently being done.

“It is an honor for us to be able to build a relationship that has existed for a long time and still continues to this day. In regard to this, we finally build closeness and are able to exchange ideas on various things," he said.

He stated that there were a number of things being discussed, starting from edge financial systems, student loans, to multidisciplinary programs that allow students to have broader abilities and job opportunities. Currently, ITB is also implementing the same thing at the postgraduate level.

There are nine multidisciplinary master's programs, including Nano Technology, Health Technology, Science Education 4.0, Digital Technopreneurship, Smart-X, Battery Materials, Disaster, Sustainable Biological Tourism, and Design Leadership.

Through this meeting, the two institutions shared experiences to improve the quality in the implementation of education and research, as well as their contributions to the progress of society in both countries.
