Supporting the Development of the Rebana Area, ITB Will Establish a Center for Metropolitan Studies at the Cirebon Campus
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id--In order to support the development of the Rebana area, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) will establish and Indonesian Metropolitan Studies Center at Cirebon Campus ITB.
This was stated in the collaboration (MoU) between the Rebana Area Management Agency and the Bandung Institute of Technology which was signed on Wednesday (8/9/2023) by the Head of the Rebana Area Management Agency, Bernardus Djonoputro and ITB Chancellor, Prof. Reini Wirahadikusumah, Ph.D.
Director of Cirebon Campus ITB, Dr. Ir. Iwan Kustiwan, M.T., explained that the purpose of the study center establishment was to conduct studies related to the development of the Rebana area, where Cirebon Campus ITB is one of the development objects in the national strategic project plan in the Rebana area.
"The activities at the study center are research and community service activities, industrial-areas related, aerocity, Patimban port, tourism development in Kuningan, all of which are the study areas of the center. The results will be used as the basis for developing this policy by the Rebana Area Management Agency," said Dr. Iwan when met at the West Java Investment Summit 2023.
Dr. Iwan added, the center for Indonesian metropolitan studies at the Cirebon Campus ITB would be built utilizing several existing study programs at the Cirebon Campus ITB, one of which was the study program under the School of Architecture, Planning and Policy Development (SAPPD ITB).
"SAPPD has previously built a kind of lab that will be used by the center. The equipment is being developed in collaboration with the Rebana Area Management Agency," he concluded.
