ITB's Delegation Won Silver Medal In Engineering Education Festa 2014

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - In this year, ITB sent two teams for following Engineering Education Festa 2014 (E2 Festa 2014). This event was held on  Thursday-Friday (27-28/11/14) located in Kintex Exhibition Center, Ilsan, South Korea. ITB's delegation, together with delegation from other countries (Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, Tiongkok, USA, Japan, Hongkong) also joined International Session.

E2 Festa 2014 is annual event resulted from Design Capstone Programm performed by each team. Delegation from ITB were Global Team 1 and Orion Team. Global Team 1 consisted of three students from Faculty of Mechanical and Aeronautics Engineering and 2 students from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Orion team consisted of one student from Product Design and one student from Ocean engineering, while the others came from Chonbuk National University (CBNU). Global team 1 was the grand prize winner in IS-CAPS 2014 held by IT, UKM, and CBNU. Orion got silver prize in the same competition. To appreciate them, they were invited to join E2 Festa 2014.

Besides performing exhibiton, these teams also participated in competition between international team participant. This competition followed by 29 products produced from capstone design project. There were 14 universities outside South Korea and 4 universities from South Korea who participated in this competition. Evaluation was performed based on creativity, design, presentation, and poster. From the assesment, Global Team 1 who presented project entitled "Portable Human Powered Reverse Osmosis"  was granted a bronze prize. Fighting' Engineers Team from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, USA who presented project 3-D Imaging System for Tracking Mechanical Deformation was granted silver prize. The higher prize, gold prize, was given to Ambi Team from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology who presented project "Sally, Multi-purpose Micro Swarm Robotic System"
