ITB Presented 18 Awards in 92th Anniversary of Indonesian Engineering Higher Education
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - To commemorate the 92th Anniversary of Indonesian Engineering Higher Education (PTTI) on Tuesday (03/07/12), ITB presented awards to 18 persons who have contributions and achievements in the development of science, technology, and art in Indonesia. The event which took place in the West Hall ITB was attended by the Rector of ITB, the deans, academic staff, and student representatives of ITB.
The event began with a welcome speech from the Rector of ITB, Prof. Akhmaloka. Then, the Minister of Public Works, Dr.(HC) Ir. Djoko Kirmanto, Dipl.HE., presented the scientific speech. The speech entitled "The Challenges of Water Resources Management in Indonesia" was presented in front of invited guests.
This anniversary means that ITB has established since 1920. In the welcome speech, Prof. Akhmaloka briefly told the history about ITB. "On July 3rd, 92 years ago, Technische Hogeschool (TH) was inaugurated by the Governor General Jhr. Mr. J.P. Graaf van Limburg Stirum in the middle of rice fields stretched between Cikapundung and Dago Street," said Akhmaloka.
Ganesa Awards
In this event, 18 persons were awarded by ITB. Awards given in this agenda are: Ganesa Prajamanggala Bakti Adiutama, Ganesa Prajamanggala Bakti Utama, Ganesa Wirya Jasa Utama, Ganesa Widya Jasa Adiutama, dan Ganesa Widya Jasa Utama.
Vice Rector of Communications, Partnerships, and Alumni, Prof. Ir. Hasanudin Z. Abidin, M.Sc., Ph.D in this chance also explained the mechanism of selection is come from the propose of each study program in ITB, to be screened at the board meeting. The result is then discussed again with the deans. Here are the names of elected peoples who get the Ganesa Awards:
