ITB Team Achieves Cloud Track Success in Huawei ICT Competition 2023 at Regional and Global Levels

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - The student team of the School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics (SEEI) at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) has achieved significant success in the Cloud Track of the Huawei ICT Competition 2023. The team achieved 3rd place regionally and 2nd place globally.

The team consisted of Muhammad Hilmi Fawwaz (Telecommunication Engineering, 2020), Faris Hasim Syauqi (Informatics Engineering, 2019), and Larastya Devindira Hasnaa (Telecommunication Engineering, 2019).

The Huawei ICT Competition, specifically in the Cloud Track, aims to help participants enhance their skills in comprehending and managing cloud computing. This includes various services such as computer services, storage services, machine learning services, and other functionalities.

The team received mentoring from Abdul Latif, S.T., M.T., an Academic Assistant at STEI ITB, as part of their preparation. Devindira stated “Pak Latif provided guidance on how to address and solve the challenges presented in the competition.”

During the regional stage, the team was required to theoretically address cloud computing-related problems within a two-hour time frame. Aside from that, there were practical activities where participants configured and implemented architectural issues on cloud platforms. These activities lasted for a total of four hours. On the global stage, the competition involved practical problem-solving with increasingly difficult challenges. The competition lasted for a total of eight hours.
