ITB Student Film League Brings Tropical Breeze in Ganesha Exhibition Project

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - ITB Student Film League (LFM) is a student activity group of ITB that focuses on the works of photography and videography. This time, LFM shows its existence in a form of an event, which is called Ganesha Exhibition Project (GEP). This event is presented as an exhibition in the Selasar Sunaryo Art Space, Bandung. Being an annual event, LFM ITB chose to display tropical holiday-themed works in this episode. The photographic

works shown are original works of LFM ITB' crews. There were not only photos, but LFM GEP Movie Premiere was also held. The 3-days exhibition (06-08/11/15) is also seasoned with talk and music performance. "This exhibition is held to show original works. Such a pity if there are good works but just enjoyed by a small group of people, "said Muhammad F. Afthon (Aviation Engineering 2014) regarding the photographic exhibition on Friday (06/11/15).

Ganesha Exhibition Program is a vessel for LFM crew to show off the results of the best works that have gone through some process of curatorial videography and photography. There are approximately 60 photos on display with a variety of key features. Some of the pictures emphasize the composition, while the other are emphasized on the object or once in a lifetime moments. "The photographs are emerged from the taste. Perhaps, we originally did not intend to take a picture. However, when the taste (of composition) arises, then it is inevitable to take a frame of it," Afthon explained. Convenient location and themed art also makes this exhibition looks like a real gallery.

Seeing the great numbers of visitors with photography interest, LFM also held a competition, i.e. Instagram Challenge, where visitors can test their creativity in a photog

raph in the exhibition. On Saturday (30/11), GEP was tinged with a music performance from other student units, i.e., ITB Jazz and Apres! ITB. In the last day, there was a talk with @thetaable, a conceptual photographer whose work is widely-known in Instagram. In addition, there were also the screening of short LFM crews' short movies.
