National Seminar Materials 2013: Early Innovations Materials Technology of Indonesia
Bandung, itb.ac.id - Development of materials technology increasingly affect many different areas of human life. Medical technology, electronics, and petroleum are some aspects that are influenced by materials technology. It makes countries - developed countries race - a race to allocate funds to invest in developing the technology of the material. With this background, the Scientific Group, Electronic Material Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (Faculty-ITB) held a National Seminar Materials 2013 (SNM 2013) on Saturday (02/16/13).

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - For the first time, Adobe CS5 certification program was held in Indonesia by Faculty of Art and Design ITB. Monday-Wednesday (3-5/06/13), FSRD ITB organized International Certification Program for Adobe CS5. This time, the certification category was Adobe Certified Associate (ACA). With this certification, one's skill can be certified and validated in the using of Adobe digital communication. This three days event was divided into colloquium, preparation of the test, and practical test.

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Most of the biomedical technologies used in clinical laboratory in Indonesia are still using imported foreign technologies nowadays. Local industries haven't been able to compete with foreign technologies in medical devices development, especially those with advanced technologies. Hence, more research and participations are needed to make medical devices market can be entered by local players. From this background, Biomedical Engineering Group, School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics ITB published a Clinical Laboratory Instrumentation book. Medical devices industries in Indonesia are expected to develop with the launching of this book, which was held on Friday (17/05/13) at Sawunggaling Hotel, Bandung.
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - ITB collaborated with Learning Development Institute, United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Universe Awareness (Unawe), and Fondacion Cultura de Paz held an international colloquium titled Building the Scientific Mind 2013 (BtSM 2013). This international colloquium was held at Bosscha Observatory on Monday-Friday (27-31/05/13). This colloquium was participated by entrants from various countries like America, India, Egypt, Netherlands, Ireland, South Africa, and more countries. This year's main theme of BtSM 2013 was "Science and Technology in the Service of Beauty and Harmony".
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - giant dike project, better known as Giant Sea Wall will stretch along 30 miles of Jakarta Bay. Jakarta government project in collaboration with the Dutch government will be as far as 6-8 km offshore from the coastline. The purpose of this giant dike project is to reduce flooding, provide clean fresh water, coastal and build. In fact, the project is expected to cause problems.
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Currently the need of alternative fuels in the world is increasing. This is due to the increasing of demand for fuel and the depletion of existed fossil fuel reserves. Based on this, organized the Shell Eco Marathon 2013, which emphasizes the use of alternative fuels such as bioethanol, fuel gas, hydrogen, electricity and other alternative energy sources. One of the participants of this year competition is Rakata team from ITB.
