Rector of ITB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., officially opened the Plenary Discussion of the ITB Professors Forum (FGB ITB) themed “97 Years of the Youth Pledge: Nationhood through the Lens of Interconnected Knowledge Practices,” on Tuesday (October 28, 2025), at the East Hall, ITB Ganesha Campus.
On this occasion, Prof. Tata invited the entire ITB academic community to reflect once again on the meaning of the Youth Pledge — not merely as a historical milestone, but as an intellectual foundation. He emphasized that national identity was born from shared agreement and collective awareness. In today’s era of digital disruption, he highlighted the need for a “Youth Pledge 5.0” — a shared commitment to unite knowledge, humanity, and technology so that Indonesia may stand not only as a physically unified nation but also one united in vision, innovation, and social justice.
The discussion featured notable speakers, including Dr. Martin Suryajaya, M.Hum. (Deputy Director of the Graduate School, Jakarta Institute of the Arts), Prof. Premana W. Premadi, Ph.D. (Professor of Astronomy, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences ITB, and member of the ITB Professors Forum), and Prof. Dr. Siti Musdah Mulia, M.A. (UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, AIPI).
