SEF ITB Represents Indonesia for International Debate Competition in Berlin, Germany
NUEDC is the nationwide English debating championship for university students. This event has been held several times, aiming to determine those who will receive sponsorship from Dirjen Dikti to join the WUDC. This makes the NUEDC one of the most competitive student debate championships in Indonesia.
ITB is one of the strongest teams nationwide. In the last four NUEDCs, ITB managed to compete in the final round in three of them (becoming the big four teams) and reserved the right to attend the WUDC through the funding given by Dirjen Dikti. After proving their ability in NUEDC, ITB student can join the debates of the world championships in Turkey (2009), Philippines (2011), and Germany (December 2012) without paying a dime. One ITB delegation, Jane, when join the NUEDC 2012 is still first year student, but she was able to stand in the final stage NUEDC with other senior students. Not only that, in this prestigious championship, Jane was also selected as 10th best speaker, while Kirana selected as the 4th best speaker.
NUEDC 2012 was conducted at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan (STIKES) Bali, on Friday-Wednesday (22-27/06/2012) and was attended by tens of teams from the nationwide higher education institutions. The Champion was Universitas Bina Nusantara, and the First Runner-Up was Universitas Katholik Atma Jaya.
