BANDUNG, itb.ac.id – Life is getting more modern every time. Smart technology is becoming a social trend, including communication digitalization in this industry 4.0. Market, supply chain, and manufacture process have entered automation era where mass product circulation and data integration are the focuses.

Demand and usage of smart technology raise exponentially. The need to master cyber-physic system, IoT, cloud computing, and cognitive computing should be fulfilled with readiness of technology and bureaucratic aspects in a country.

In addition to readiness of the technology and data integration, data security and validation shall be guaranteed. That drives an ITB student, Rezha Kusuma, to develop a blockchain system called Blockchain ID.

Blockchain is a database that spread in all network within the system. For cryptocurrency, this data decentralization is important to prevent loss of data control when main system is hacked. Even if the data on a computer on a network is broken, history of the transaction is safe because the data is stored on different computer within the same network as an encryption.

Only the data owner and several other parties can open transaction details using private key. Individual control over possibility of misuse of personal data by the central system will be very useful, especially in this digital era.

“About 90% people in the world are worried about the misuse of their identity. Less than 10% believe to have control over their identity. What if there is a system that give back the control to the owner of the identity?” Rezha said. Hence, Blockchain ID is developed.

In accordance with the slogan “Giving the Control over Identity Back to You”, Blockchain ID is developed with its main feature that enables data owner to hold, change, manage, and track the user of their identity. All multi-identity transactions can use this system. That shows the wide range of aspects accommodated by this blockchain by Rezha.

Development of Blockchain in Indonesia is still limited despite its high level of data security and validation. Blockchain is very suitable for industry 4.0, where automation and digital marketing require a complete and safely distributed database.

Database could exist if the recording process is holistic and validated. Therefore, Blockchain is integral in facing industry 4.0.
