BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Human Sciences Research Groups (KKIK), Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD-ITB) held a seminar titled "Teknokultur through Genolinguistic Application for Network Security and Encryption". This seminar was held on Thursday (11/06/15) at the Gallery East CC ITB. More than 100 participants from various backgrounds such as the military, academia and the general public present at this seminar. Also present were Vice Rector and Dean of FSRD.

There are two major topics at this seminar. Both of these topics, among others, the mapping and identification in the Indonesian language, the role of digital technologies in the preservation of cultural and linguistic role in national security and resilience. Both topics are respectively delivered in four different lectures by guest speaker, Prof. Dr. Multamia R.M.T. Lauder from the University of Indonesia, Prof. Sangkot Marzuki from the Indonesian Academy of Sciences, Yusep Rosmansyah, Ph.D., from the Institute of Technology Bandung and Ari Barmawi, Ph.D from Telkom University.

This seminar is the fifth seminar of a series of seminars in KKIK. Within a year, the group held two seminars this expertise as the main agenda, namely the scientific seminar in June and character development in November. Technological culture theme raised, considered Dr. Dicky R Munaf KKIK as chairman, will be very important role in the century's information technology industry. Technology has brought many changes to the society with the surge of traffic information. Especially for Indonesia, as the country with the highest Internet users 6th. Therefore access to information is so freely, resulting in the issue of network security becomes very important. Languages diverse areas in Indonesia can be use as the tool.

According to Dean FSRD, Dr. Imam Santosa, language is no longer just a communication tool, but it becomes more complicated even more crucial if associated with global structures such as the economic and social culture. Currently human civilization has reached the third period, in which the main life lines have changed. Initially in the form of agricultural and agriculture alone, becomes the industry and currently the information and technology. In the century of Information Technology, the language holds a great share in its development in the future.

Language became the globally needs for main communication. But unfortunately there is a negative impact on the emergence of a global language. In some areas, discovered the phenomenon of the strengthening of the local language with global language development. But in Indonesia itself this does not happen. There are around 700 languages in Indonesia and is now almost extinct. Only 10-13 main regional languages are commonly used in everyday life. Therefore, it is necessary to do the mapping language and culture through geolinguistic and genolinguistic. Mapping language in Indonesia is considered important for Dicky. In addition to preserving the language itself, it can also be used in digital network technology security. Digital data confidentiality can be done with the data encoding or encryption of local languages via steganography and cryptolinguistic.

"Necessary collaboration between scientists, technocrats, linguists and social scientists and humanities to achieve the goals of preservation of language and culture as well as its utilization in the network security system. The seminar was expected to prepare for future network security is also influential for human life", Dicky said.
