ITB Teams Won Ladder PLC Programming Competition

BANDUNG, itb.ac.id - Again, ITB's Physics Engineering Major organize a ladder Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Competition. This national-scale competition was done from Tuesday to Thursday (10-12/04/12) in Aula Timur ITB,

This competition was made to increase the student's interest and competitiveness in the field of PLC. With theme of "Stabilization of Human Resource Competence in PLC", this competition can gain attention from the students. This can be seen from the amount of competitor, amounts 118 teams from 54 universities. ITB itself send 18 teams to join the competition. 

This competition consists of two stages, preliminary and final round. "In the preliminaries, the participant will be divided into 22 groups, and from each group two best will be chosen to proceed to the final round," say Endra Joelianto, as the head of this event. From ITB's 18 teams, there were five teams that proceed to the final round. "In the final round, best ten will be chosen to be granted the winner of this competition," adds Endra.

The judges consists of representatives from vendor, academist, and industrials. Accdording to Endra, in scoring process, the judges will not be able to knows which team that they score. They will only be given a sheet of paper filled with team's number without knowing whose team it was.

 

ITB Won the First PRize

One of ITB's team managed to won this competition. The teams consists of M. Riandhy Anindika (Physics Engineering 2009) and Syarif Hidayatullah (Physics Engineering 2009) managed to won over seeded teams representing various universities.

"I still can't believe we can win this competition," said Riandhy. "We only started to learn PLC two months ago, and this is our first competition," he adds.

Aside from Riandhy and Syarif, there were also two teams representing ITB that managed to win this competition. The team, with its members  Vernida Mufidah (Physics Engineering 2009) and Triannisa Julia (Physics Engineering 2009) managed to get third Hoper winner. And then , team with  Anantha Adhi Wardana (physics Engineering 2009) dan Ridwan Nugraha (Physics Engineering 2009) managed to won Creative Programming in this competition.

Another winner from this competition is team from Politeknik ATMI Surakarta which won second place and from IKIP PGRI Madiun who won the third place. Aside from that, there were also best team award which is won by team from Politeknik Negeri Pontianak (POLNEP)
