Aburizal Bakrie Delivered a Studium Generale on Entrepreneurship
Bandung, itb.ac.id - The participants in Aula Barat were astonished by a lecture from the inspirational entrepreneur, Aburizal Bakrie. On this rare ocassion, Aburizal Bakrie gave a lecture titled "The Role of Entrepreneurship for Accelerating National Revival" and also he opened the second lifting for School of YOung Entrepreneur (Sekolah Pengusaha Muda-SPM).
Held by coordination from Student Foundation (Lembaga Kemahasiswaan-LK) and Student Body (Keluarga Mahasiswa ITB), this activity brought out old stories and recounted Aburizal Bakrie's life journey to become a successful businessman. Also, he explained how to be an entrepreneur and shared a valuable information that he gained since he was a student.
Aburizal Bakrie, who already initiated his first business in college, stated that there were three lucrative sector in the future. "There are three crises that torture the whole world : energy, crops consumtion, and water supply. Get in these three sector, because the chancesare high.", said the man that often called Bang Ical.
Beside those three sector, he also suggest other sectors who have high manufacturing production, such as agriculture in palm oil, cacao, and rubber. From his opinion, biotechnology would also be bonafide in the future because of society demand are incereasing.
Relying on Faith
This 1964 alumni believe that Our Creator took a lot of role in his success. Hundreds of business that was initiated by him had crumbled down, but nevertheless they still fought to get back and managed to survive because of His blessings. "Ups and downs were a part of every entrepreneur's life. The key is to always struggle and stand up every time we fall.", he said.
In his explanation, Aburizal Bakrie invited participants to awaken our faith that Indonesia will be a developed nation. "Believe that Indonesia can be a better nation. Keep on believing, there's still a chance."
The Opening of School of Young Entrepreneur
Apart from giving a lecture, this Studium Generale consisted of the opening of School of Young Entrepreneur (Sekolah Pengusaha Muda - SPM). SPM was a form of development for start-up entrepreneur in ITB who was a member in Ganesha Yung Businessman community, that will be filled with activity like business couching, company visit, business challenge, or follow up.
Briefly, the couching matter is : our soul is an entrepreneur, samurai business mental, business operational and management, funding, budgeting potential, and sociopreneur. In this opening, Aburizal Bakrie hoped that SPM's participants can be united to achieve a better Indonesia.
