ITB Team Grab Title in RAISE 2016
Bandung, itb.ac.id - ITB Student this time bring back the achievement in the national level. This achievement was carved by Muslim Rahadian (Mining Engineering 2013) and Muhammad Arief Purnomo (Metallurgical Engineering 2013) which works out to be 1st Champion of National Debating Championship in the event titled RAISE 2016 on Sunday-Monday (02-03/10/16).
The competiton held at Pembangunan Nasional University (UPN) V Yogyakarta is a competition themed Petroleum Engineering fields with the heading "The Action of Indonesian Youth to Achieve Oil and Gas National Sovereignity". Held well by Indonesian Petroleum Engineering Expert Association-Student Section (IATMI-SM) UPN, the titles of RAISE 2016 event also consists of several other series of events, including the Paper Competition, Smart Competition, Oil Rig Floating Structure Competition, as well as the Plenary Discussion. In addition, this event preceded by Inspiring Talk and IATMI Social and Green Environmental Movement which already held a few days before the debate competition was held.
In this national debate contest, Rahadian and Arief was one of the participants from a dozen teams from different universities all over Indonesia. With hard work and sincerity of heart, they managed to snatch the champion and came out as the winner.
Interviewed after the end of the show, Rahadian, one of the members of the team who successfully be the winner, claims felt happy after winning this competition. "Through the petroleum debate competition I honed my soft skills as the ability of critical thinking, suggested, listen to the opinions of others, and also critic it. In addition, debate motions also have me understand the technical of oil and gas industry in Indonesia", Rahadian said. "In addition, as an engineering student, I hope that we can hone the ability to communicate and expresses opinions well through initiatives such as competition or event Model United Nations (MUN)," close Rahadian ended the interview session.
