Description
The Doctoral Program in Astronomy is an advanced educational program accredited by the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (NAAHE/BAN-PT).

Research Topics
This program's cornerstone lies in independent research work in the field of astrophysics or related subjects under the supervision of ITB Astronomy Research Group. The dissertation compiled by the students is an original research work that aims to contribute to the field significantly.

Objectives
The Doctoral Program in Astronomy research course starts from the qualification exam stage aimed at evaluating the mastery of knowledge and the student's ability to formulate a detailed and structured research plan. After passing the qualification exam, students will be granted doctoral candidate status, conduct research under the guidance of the promoter and co-promotor, and periodically evaluate in the form of seminars and research progress reports. At the end of the phase, doctoral candidate students must publish their scientific work in a reputable journal and attend a doctoral session to defend their dissertation.

Career Prospects
With their expertise, graduates of the Doctoral Program in Astronomy have broad job prospects, including careers as lecturers at universities and becoming researchers at research institutes. In addition, they also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of astronomical science through publications and research collaborations.
