Chemical engineering product design and development research group is one of the research groups in the Faculty of Industrial Technology. Chemical Engineering Product Design and Development Research Group areas of study and research activities are directed to design and develop innovative products based on local resources. Our researches use applied sciences and engineering principles in processing material using catalyst or biocatalyst to produce products and services. In this case, the aforementioned products are related with fermented food, feed, beverages, pharmaceuticals, enzymes, microbial, single-cell protein, ethanol, degradable polymer, chemicals etc., while the services mainly focus on water purification and management of domestic and industrial waste. The other study fields of the research group include producing chemical products and organic/inorganic software-related aspects of research, even developing industrial design.
Chemical Engineering Product Design and Development Research Group also care about environmental problems, especially clean technology, including industrial wastewater treatment. Programmed research is expected to reduce Indonesia's dependence on imported products so that Indonesia can be independent in the future.
