Nationwide surveys based on relatively small samples can accurately estimate population characteristics, but they can be inefficient and costly if appropriate scientific methods are not used.
In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn appropriate methods for doing such surveys. These methods include simple random sampling with proportional allocation, sampling from regions with similar sample sizes, stratified samples to improve efficiency, cluster samples to reduce logistic costs, and combinations of these methods.
The workshop will focus on problems of national importance to Thailand, particularly in public health.
