Aero Expo 2010: Aviation Fair and Competitions
BANDUNG, itb.ac.id-Aero Expo 2010 has been successfully held with a series of events. Started by Indonesian Indoor Aerial Robot Contest (IIARC) on Friday-Sunday (15-17/10/10) up until RC Simulator and photography contest on Saturday (30/10/10). Besides the competitions, there are numerous seminars and exhibitons.
The exhibition, taking place in two locations in ITB is titled "Civil Aviation Safety: Policy and Implementation in Indonesia". Three exhibition categories represent a number of stakeholders who contribute to aviation line of work: firstly, business community, displaying their products in ITB East Hall; secondly, aviation community, and hobbies directly involve with aviation; lastly, aviation schools. The last two categories are displaying their products in East Campus Center Wing Park.
"The exhibition's participants are enterprises and community who are competent in their field, such as Boeing, and Bandung State Polytechnic (Polban)." said Saladdin Siregar, the chairman of Aero Expo 2010.
RC Simulator, Much Like Playing Game
RC simulator contest, held on Saturday (30/10/10) is participated by 21 contestants, some of whom were ITB students. "In this contest, the participants are to play inPhoenix Simulator and accomplish two missions, each takes five minutes. In the mission, the participants have to drop the load that their plane controls in the right spot. The closer the load is to the spot, the bigger the point that they earn." explained Rizal, a committee member.
Another exciting competition is photography contest. This contest consists of two categories: free category and IIARC photographs category. The champion, runner up, and second runner up of free category are Vincent, Irfan and Omar, respectively. The champion, runner up, and second runner up of IIARC photograph category are Gatot Irawan, Vincent, and Anka, respectively. Aviation contests like this are the hopes for technological advancement in aviation's future.
